Interstate Earns 5th SDDC Quality Award
Company Demonstrates ‘Excellence Is a Tradition’ at Interstate
Springfield, VA., July 11, 2006—Interstate Van Lines, a leading global provider of transportation, relocation, and logistics management solutions, announced today that it has once again won the prestigious Surface Deployment and Distribution Command (SDDC) Quality award. 2005 marks the third consecutive year that Interstate has won the SDDC Quality award and the only van lines ever to win. It is only presented to top-tier organizations throughout the transportation industry that have set exceptional standards and have delivered the highest quality of services to the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), the world’s largest customer to the moving industry. The award is available to all DoD-approved transportation providers for all modes and services.
Interstate was awarded this honor after being nominated by Patrick Air Force Base located in Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida. During the presentation that was given by Major General Charles W. Fletcher, Jr., Commander, Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command, it was announced that Interstate’s customers have repeatedly described the company as innovative, responsive, and always willing to go the extra mile for their clients. Interstate was presented the 2005 SDDC Quality Award based upon the exceptional level of service received by both relocating military service members and transportation office personnel, for which the company has been repeatedly recognized. The company is one of the largest providers of household goods moving services to the DoD in the U.S. and is ranked in the nation’s top 20 for relocation and transportation management companies.
Interstate was also recognized for its “award winning” T-Trac™ program, an industry-first program that enables the company’s military customers to conveniently view their shipment status, and Transportation Management Officers (TMO) can look at the status of all inbound and outbound shipments for their transportation office. Also, Interstate has developed an innovative E-Trac™ program that provides email updates on shipment status to military customers and the respective TMOs to deliver accurate and updated information in a convenient manner.
“Our team is continually seeking innovative ways to further improve service for our military customers,” stated John D. Morrissette, senior vice president at Interstate. “We are committed to achieving our goal of continually ‘raising the bar’ for the level of service we provide to all of our valued customers—including government, corporate and individual customers,” emphasized Morrissette.
