(Springfield, VA) Interstate Worldwide Relocation is pleased to announce that Edward Nunnery was selected as the Virginia Trucking Association's 2002 Driver of the Year. Nunnery was selected from all commercial drivers based in Virginia, and will be honored at the Virginia Trucking Association's annual safety conference in Williamsburg, Virginia on April 25, 2002.
With nine years of experience as an Interstate driver and nearly 11 years in the moving industry, Nunnery heralds an impeccable safety record - starting from his date of employment. During the past five years, Nunnery has been recognized more than 30 times for achievements in safe driving, excellence in logbook documentation, zero accident/incident involvement, customer service, Good Samaritan acts and community involvement. In 1995, he received Interstate's Contract Driver of the Year Award. "Mr. Nunnery is an exemplary employee and a strong role model for his peers. He is not only an outstanding driver, but also a valuable asset to both Interstate and our community. We are very proud of Ed and his accomplishments and are pleased to have him on the Interstate team, " commented Ken Morrissette, Vice President of Interstate Worldwide Relocation.
Established in 1943, the Interstate family of companies today comprises a worldwide group of relocation management, transportation and logistic entities that will facilitate more than 25,000 relocations over the next year. The Interstate team presently consists of 300 employees and 1,000 service partners worldwide. Interstate is distinguished with ISO-9002 certification for all entities and facilities, an accomplishment achieved by less than 1% of those within its industry. Additionally, in 2001 several prestigious awards were bestowed upon the organization, including the 2001 National Capital Business Ethics Award and The Fairfax County Economic Development Authority and the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce's 2001 Blue Diamond Quality First Award and numerous Safety in the Workplace Award honors from the American Moving and Storage Association.
