(Springfield, VA) Fairfax County Public School's School Business Partners, Interstate Worldwide Relocation and Flint Hill elementary school teamed up for a musical production. On June 13, 2003, the Flint Hill Elementary School Sixth Grade Strings group performed at Interstate's corporate office in Springfield, Virginia. The 30-member orchestra, including four soloists: Amanda Miller, Christina Guenther, Audrey Heaton and Max Spokony, performed a plethora of songs including America the Beautiful and Take Me Out to the Ball Game. The surprise finale included a song entitled Interstate Worldwide, which was sung to the tune of "SpongeBob SquarePants" signature theme.
Following their impressive performance, the group was taken on a tour of the facility by host Bud Morrissette, the COO of Interstate. To finish up their stay, the students were treated to pizza and cookies in the company's community room.
Established in 1943, the Interstate family of companies today comprises a worldwide group of relocation management, transportation and logistic entities that will facilitate more than 20,000 relocations over the next year. For more than half a century, the Interstate team has been learning and building on its reputation for providing "Top Hat Service." The experience and attention to details led to Interstate being designated as ISO 9002 certified for all entities and facilities in August 2000, an accomplishment achieved by less than one percent of companies within its industry.
